Los Twang! Marvels

Los Twang! Marvels have come to take Instrumental Music to new levels of entertaining live performance with their irresistible, trade mark, piercing, diamond sound. Their repertoire includes unforgettable cover versions as well as exciting originals. In this, the Marvels combine their Latin Roots (and Attitude) with Wild and Primitive R'n'R Twists and an array of Incomparable Surf-reverberating Guitar Melodies ... Enjoy the band's marvellous pearly sound, which makes every audience want to dance !

The band:
Alex Anthony - lead guitar - Alex got his first guitar at the sweet age of 11. At the (still sweet) age of 13 he bought his first electric. One of his earliest and strongest impressions was a broadcast of "Mochin Marafiotti's Hour", where in the background he could hear Bingo Reyna play Czardas. So he fell in love with instrumental early 60s music, Surf-beat and Rock'n'Roll. Yolanda Corsario - Rhythm Guitar - Yolanda has been playing classical, acoustic and electric guitar for years. It is through her that the Marvels' sound gets its charming feminine touch. Boris Bisfer Israel - drums - A new Marvel fresh from Chile, Boris currently investigates African Drumming, Latin Jazz and Bossa. Patrick Loimer - bass - Patrick has been (and still is) a member of the Leipzig-based noise-pop band W:ax. His other interests are Electronica and Lounge Music. Enjoy the ride, see you in Orbit!

ET SP2727 LOS TWANG! MARVELS – PRUEBA DE FUEGO

The main idea was to make a special record for Los Twang! Marvels tour in Mexico at early 2006 but it ended as a compilation showing the band´s different stages.
We´re talking about a review, a temporary travel (not cronological) through the diverse stages of it´s musical development. A fine selection from “Guitars in Orbit” (edited at early 2005 by the spanish label El Toro Records) followed by the hits from the e.p. produced at the end of 2003 with musical contribution from Elvis Castro and several unreleased tracks specially recorded through 2005. They´re all here in this very edition.
The sonic news from 2005 could be listened in their own versions of Brasil and Samba Estrella where the Marvels put their own seal following the footsteps left by such acts as Los Iracundos, Los Bambis, Los Belkins and some other south-american forgotten instro jewels. The attractive title “Prueba de Fuego” is also a quote from a famous Erasmo Carlos´tune and it closes the record: “We just pleased ourselves by doing it´s cover version, adding all our body and soul flavor, not leaving Bingo Reyna out of it, of course”. The 2 new originals could be placed inside the surfin´& rockin´ Los Twang! Marvels style along with the always noted Link Wray´s master influence in such tunes as Safari Stomp and the Fender IV and their mytical Margaya, on the track Fenderviche.
The first edition of Prueba de Fuego was released by Isotonic records in Mexico city. This edition is co-edited and presented by El Toro, Isotonic and Marvel Records. It also contains a video-clip showing Los Twang! Marvels live in the land of Tenochtitlan along with an incredible mexican audience which made possible that a trial by fire became the wildest party. A celebration with surf, rock and latin tunes. That´s Los Twang! Marvels own trademark.
